  Take a right at first light over bridge from Yulee on Amelia Island Parkway. Proceed about 3 miles to first stop light at A1A and continue straight through past the signs to the Ritz and Golf Club of Amelia Island. Just after passing the Ritz and Golfside South, Parkway Place is the next neighborhood on the right. Turn in on Fairway drive through the gate and proceed straight to the back cul-de-sac to the home. Just a few suggestions to get you started 

(aka, a few of our favorite things!)....... 

 

 

Downtown Fernandina Beach. It's our local downtown and  

charming as can be. Be sure to explore... it's about 10 minutes north of the house. There are lots of restaurants and especially nice, a local farmers market every Saturday from 9 to 1 ).... it's fun and a great time to explore the downtown and have lunch... 

 

Driving on the beach is allowed in a few areas... one is the very  

southern tip of the island (about 5 minutes from the house) at low  

tide, fun to take a picnic or fishing stuff... it starts on the  

intracoastal, but you can drive around to the ocean... 

 

Little Talbot Island (south of us about a 10 minute drive)... A  

gorgeous beach (we like the first parking area and then going north) and stunning hiking and camping... 

 

Fort Clinch State park (north of us about a 10 minute drive). It has a fishing pier and a fort that's fun to explore overlooking  

Cumberland Island, plus lots of trails and good biking. 

 

Fort George Park and the Ribault Club Another neat park with a  

gorgeous restored manor house they rent out for events... about 15  

minutes south of the house 

 

St Johns River Ferry Close to Fort George Park and Ribault Club 15  

minutes south of the house.. It's a short, but fun, ferry ride across the river to Mayport where there is a great seafood store that serves lunch on the deck over looking the fishing docks... if it's nice weather, it's a fun "down and dirty" excursion 

 

Cumberland Island Unspoiled beaches and wilderness...No cars  

allowed, it's a ferry ride from St Mary's and day trip... it's  

awesome!!!  

 

The Ritz Carlton and Amelia Island Plantation are two large  

oceanfront resorts with lodging, world class spas, golf, tennis,  

restaurants... the lists go on.... Get pampered to your hearts content! 

 

Harris Teeter Grocery... you can bike or stroll to this upscale grocery store! We have baskets on our bikes to make the trip. It's located in a shopping center with boutiques, a great chinese take out and even a liquour store! Watch out for all the trees hanging over the road on the way!
