The City of Seminole, Florida is located in Pinellas County, Florida. This family friendly city was incorporated on November, 15, 1970. The city of Seminole is 5.3 square miles with a 2008 population of about 18,862 with about 80,000 residents living in greater Seminole. Seminole is located on Florida's West Coast in West Central Pinellas County and about 1.5 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. Seminole is between Clearwater to the north and St. Petersburg to the south. There are plenty of picnic tables and shelters, a boat ramp, grill stations and a playground. Like most parks in Florida, Lake Seminole Park is a designated wildlife habitat and sanctuary for raccoons, alligators, various waterfowl, hawks, bald eagles, black vultures, tortoises, turtles, snakes and deer. Runners, hikers, roller-bladers and walkers enjoy the 2-mile multi-use trail that winds through a pine flat-woods of Lake Seminole Park. Lake Seminole is a popular lake for boaters, jet skiers, water-skiing, fishing and relaxing on these beautiful waters. There is a softball field, volleyball courts and plenty a green open ares to throw the Frisbee. Lake Seminole is a popular place to tie-the-knot near Shelter #2 at the front of the park, and at Shelter #5 which is built over a small pond.
