About Englewood
Englewood is a small town that skirts the Gulf of Mexico on Florida’s Sun Coast. This community straddles both Sarasota and Charlotte Counties. The public schools in Englewood are split amongst the two counties; the elementary schools are operated through Sarasota County and Charlotte County takes the middle and high schools. Englewood is known for its beautiful, sandy beaches which are popular to Snow Birds (those who travel Florida for the winter). The most commercial accessible beach is Chadwick Beach, with parking and restaurants. Stump Pass Beach State Park is a beach that has the amenities of bathrooms, hiking and biking trails, and wildlife viewing. Englewood is located about an hour south of Saint Petersburg, just off of I-75. To get to Tampa, it is about an hour drive. Sarasota, home of the Barnum and Bailey Museum, is about a half an hour away.
