Developed in the 1920's as a weekend getaway for the wealthy inland Florida residents, Indian Rocks Beach as approximately 2.7 miles of beachfront. Unlike many Florida beachfront communities along Florida's west coast that are rather commerialized, Indian Rocks Beach remains a low-density samll Florida town.
There are more than 20 beach accesses and 7 parks. The 12th Avenue Park is located at 12th Avenue & Gulf Boulevard. Brown Park is located at Bay Boulevard & 2nd Street. Chief Chic-A-Si Park is located at 4th Avenue & 2nd Street. And, Keegan Clair Park is located at 3rd Avenue & 1st Street and Miami Ave & 2nd Street.
Kolb Park is located on Bay Palm Boulevard between 15th Avenue & 16th Avenue. There is also a Leash-free Dog Park on Indian Rocks Beach located off of Gulf Boulevard between 9th Avenue & 10th Avenue in the Nature Preserve.
