About Boca Raton

Boca Raton, located in Palm Beach County, is larger than its neighboring cities of West Palm Beach and Pompano Beach.

Florida Atlantic University now occupies the land of the old pineapple plantations that were once owned by Japanese farmers of the Yamato Colony. And back in the late 60’s, IBM purchased 100’s of acres of real estate in Boca to use as its Southern home. IBM’s facilities operated there until 1996 when the property was sold to a real estate company and resold to T-REX Management Consortium who converted the area into a business park that has been successfully maintained since then.

Boca has city-like communities such as Logger’s Run, Boca Pointe, Mission Bay, Hamptons at Boca Raton, Whisper Walk and Sandalfoot Cove.

A cultural center for the city is Mizner Park, a modern mediterranean attraction in the downtown area’s financial district featuring the Museum of Art, retaurants and shopping as well as a new amphitheater.
